Church council meeting was held on April 16, 2025. Due to the Easter Holiday weekend coming up, there were only 7 members in attendance. We had open discussions on creating a Legacy Circle wall plaque recognizing past contributions from members. Lots more work and discussions need to be done but interest from council was well received.
We had discussions about Stewardship plans going forward. We are looking at moving away from the dinner’s we have had in the past at members’ homes. We are looking at moving to doing monthly fellowship, with either breakfast or lunch, before or after church service. Stay tuned for updates as we work through the details and time line.
Setting times for Quarterly updates during coffee hour after church on Sunday’s. Tentatively they are April 27, June 22, Sept 21 and Nov 23 in 2025. We are currently in discussions with another child care school looking for space. This new lease will look to start in June 2026 and renew in 2031. Lots of discussions with Adam and the Trustees, who are reviewing the offer and making counter offer regarding issues we need to meet. We have retained a lawyer to review the contract.
Update on the Balcony Project…the new lights are in and we are waiting for the track lighting fixtures, which will arrive in May.
We are doing some work on setting up a Laundry Ministry supported by the church. We are in talks with a laundromat at Granville and 71 st . This would allow us to support people in our community, who are either homeless or struggling financially to get by on a monthly basis. We are working on completing the details with the owner of the laundromat, to get this up and running soon.
