Funeral: Jamie Powers

We wish to announce the passing of Jamie Genevieve Powers on April 29, 2026 in Vancouver, BC. Jamie was a Spiritual Direction Counsellor, in private practice for several decades, who assisted people with their spiritual journeys. Jamie had a background in Counseling Psychology; she also had three Master’s degrees, including an M.A. in Early Childhood Education, with a major in Special Needs Education.

She was born James Leslie Pardy on September 15, 1951, in Regina, Saskatchewan. She met her husband, Dean, in Windsor, Ontario, and they moved to Vancouver, BC, in 1976. Jamie and Dean were married for 52 years. Jamie will be missed by her friends and their children, and by her parish community at St. Faith’s and at Christ Church Cathedral. Jamie is survived by her husband, Dr. Dean Powers, and by their daughter, Ms. Satinder Powers.

Services will be held at St. Faith’s Anglican Church, May 23 at 9am with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend, either onsite or online. For instructions on how to participate in the service online, please see our Online Worship page.
