Our Council meeting was held on May 21, 2025. We had a full agenda with Council having robust discussions on a number of key items. It was exciting to hear from Adam that we continue to see and feel energy, growth and development in our community. This past Easter season, we recorded our highest attendance yet, with 113 worshipers across our three services. This exceeded our record last year of 100 worshipers. We’ve been blessed with lots of new people joining our community and we see signs that it will continue as we welcome new visitors into our community for the first time most Sundays.
We have continued to have a busy few weeks in May, with a focus on the following property and administrative projects:
- The trustees have been negotiating an offer to lease from a new daycare for our lower hall. The good news is that we have now accepted the offer. We are now working towards creating a lease and getting it through diocesan review.
- We are so very close to being finished with the balcony project. The temporary walls have now been installed, and we are anticipating part two of the lighting installation to be completed soon.
- Following Ruben’s request to step back from his role at St. Hildegard’s Sanctuary, which will effective the first Sunday in July, Adam and Melanie have been in conversation with a new musician who is interested and has the experience needed to step in as the new musician at St. Hildegard’s Sanctuary.
- We have been looking into replacing the deteriorating double front door and if the budget allows, to also the high traffic Southeast double door. The desire is to have as much glass as possible to allow viewing into the church and light for the art displays. A BIG thank you to Andrea MDM, who has taken over the lead on this project. We are working on getting design questions answered and price quotes
- We identified that the lower hall had a heating problem. We received a quotation of $6309 to repair the radiators. Council approved to proceed with the repair at the quoted price.
- Our Spring Work Bee was scheduled for May 24, between 9am and 12pm. We had a great turn out and were able to prepare our gardens for Spring and in time for the Archbishop’s visit on May 25th.
Lastly, Sherman reported that our rental income continues to remain strong, that a $5,000 bequest was received from the family of a parishioner, which has been reserved for future capital expenditures and that a CPA firm has been chosen to complete the review of our 2024 financial statements.
I hope that you have all had a blessed week.
God Bless
