Council Update: June 2026

On June 17th, 2026, the council met to discuss some of the exciting ideas and efforts underway. The Restore, Renew, Rejoice Campaign has been officially launched, and just over $128,000 has been pledged (check out our campaign page for up-to-date progress towards our goal). A real-time donation thermometer is available online to track progress toward the $201,000 goal.

This year’s boulevard sale was a wonderful success thanks to organizer Barry and the amazing team of volunteers. More than $3800 was raised for community outreach programs.

On Friday, June 19th, after 50 years of operation at St. Faith’s, Stepping Stone Preschool will close its doors. The date for a celebratory autumn picnic will be announced soon. Additionally, on June 20th, one of our music teachers held her last class at St. Faith’s after more than five years of student instruction.

A committee is preparing plans for a celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Ordination of Women to be held in October 2026. In the Diocese of New Westminster, Rev. Elspeth Alley and Rev. Virginia Briant were two of the original six Canadian women ordained on November 30, 1976. Rev. Elspeth Alley was a deacon associate and curate here at St. Faith’s from June 1975 to February 1977. She celebrated her first Eucharist as an ordained priest in our parish in December 1976. Please stay tuned for the celebration date and time!

There is much to be grateful for and much to celebrate as we bid farewell to old friends and commemorate important milestones. As the capital campaign focuses on the well-being of our building, we are preparing ourselves for new daycare tenants in the basement and looking forward to the many reasons to gather in worship and gratitude.

With warmest regards,
Andrea Montgomery Di Marco, Warden
