Weddings

Here at St. Faith’s, weddings are a joyful part of our life as a community. In the celebration of marriage, we come together in the presence of God to witness and bless the joining together of two people in Holy Matrimony. The bond and covenant of marriage was established by God in creation, and in this sacrament we are witness to a vision of relationship, respect, and love that God intended for us. Marriage is a life-long, spiritual commitment that begins with your desire to form a lasting partnership with another person in God’s love, and continues throughout both your lives as a process of intentional living and growing together. In this holy union, each of you as an individual, and together as a couple, gradually transform and mature in God’s presence and image.

If you are considering marriage or the blessing of a civil union, and would like to explore an Anglican wedding, you must first meet with our rector, Adam Yates–dates will not be booked prior to an initial meeting with the rector. In all cases, the couple must contact the clergy at least 60 days in advance of the anticipated wedding date, although we recommend contacting clergy 6 months, or more, in advance.

LGBTQ Weddings

At St. Faith’s, we honour and celebrate loving and committed relationships in all their forms. We consider ourselves blessed to officiate over same-sex weddings. Whether you are interested in having a religious ceremony for your wedding or if you wish to have a blessing for a previous civil marriage, please reach out to a member of our clergy for further conversation.

Pre-Marital Counseling

As required in the Anglican Church of Canada, all couples seeking to be married must complete pre-marital counseling with a marriage counselor or with a member of the clergy. Please call the church office for a list of local counselors or to discuss conducting the counseling with the clergy ahead of your wedding.

Wedding Vendors

Are you looking for a graphic designer, photographer or florist for your wedding? We keep a small list of local vendors who have worked in our space before that we are happy to share with you to help with your planning process. Please contact the church office for more information.

Cost

The all-inclusive cost for a wedding service at St. Faith’s, which includes our organist’s time, is $1,000. If you wish to make different musical arrangements–pending approval of the clergy–or have no music at all, the cost is $800.
