Another busy month full of accomplishments. Happily the balcony and narthex project has been nearly completed with the completion of lighting project–all that remains is the replacement of the exterior narthex doors, which is underway. The space has been truly transformed and you are encouraged to view it if you haven’t already done so. You may have noticed the EV charger is now in situ in the parking lot, and as soon as it passes final inspection from the City, it will be good to go! Once it is activated, drivers will be able to pay $2.50/hour to charge their EV, an amount that will cover expenses and generate a small amount of income for the church.
There’s a wonderful picnic bench now on the west side of the church and it’s getting a lot of use. St. Hildegard’s is trialing a new start time for their services – 1pm. While change often brings challenges, it is hoped this new time will benefit attendees, particularly in the winter hours when 5pm is often well after sunset.
Another new initiative for us is the Laundry Ministry which we will be launching on July 4th . At present it will run on the 1st and 3rd Friday of the month from 10am – noon. Our hope is that as the word spreads amongst the community and our volunteer numbers increase, we will be able to offer this service every Friday. If you are interested in participating in this venture, please contact Adam.
This summer the Facilities Team will be doing an audit of all repairs great and small that need to be done. Once we have a comprehensive list, Council will then be better able to prioritize projects and what financial resources will be needed to accomplish their. As you may know, Stepping Stone Preschool is closing in June 2026. We have been able to source another long-term renter to utilize the space. They will be renting for a full day Monday to Friday, providing St. Faith with additional rental income. Their contract is currently under review at the Diocese.
Mark Muyco has been hired as a part-time Sexton, taking over the cleaning duties previously performed by contractors. We look forward to the continuity and consistency of cleaning by having a dedicated individual providing this service to St. Faith.
Wishing all a blessed and safe summer.
